My name is Mircea Catalin and I am one of the founders of GymTherapy.
I’ve been into sports since I was 7 years old, practicing many disciplines like tennis, volleyball, football and last but not least fitness.
Due to really high activity level for many years I developed an incredible metabolic rate which allowed me to eat enormous quantities of foods, but as soon as I started studying in university my fitness level dropped considerably and I begin to gain weight slowly but constantly.
At the end of my 4 years university I had gained over 25 kilos and maybe 95% of it was fat because I was weak af. I was always tired, always sleepy, I had no energy whatsoever.
I started fitness with the purpose to lose the weight but I instantly fell in love with the gym.
As soon as I learned the exercises I started feeling really great after workouts, I started to feel alive. This was enough to get me going for a long period of time.
After 2-3 months of going to the gym regularly I started reading about “losing weight” and not necessarily about “losing fat”. I learned later on that these two things are very different.
After reading the basics about losing weight I started taking notes about what I eat.
I built my own data base with the foods in my country and I started weighing most of the food I ate. I can say I enjoyed it from day one.
The results came in very very fast, I was losing weight like crazy even though I was not very consistent.
After 1 year of going to the gym I managed to lose all the 25 kg of fat and gain some muscle mass.
Was it the best transformation in the world? Probably not, but who cares? I was really amazed by the results considering I did the research myself, not really knowing what works and what doesn’t, it was all trial and error.
Now going into my 4th year of fitness, I read plenty of articles and books about nutrition and workouts and I am very motivated to progress and really achieve my dream body.
